  • William H. Wilcox
    Bill joined USPI as its president and a director in September 1998 and has served as our CEO since April 2004. He is a member of the executive committee of USPI’s board. He also serves on the board of European Surgical Partners which owns and operates Aspen Healthcare Ltd. in the United Kingdom. Bill served as president and chief executive officer of United Dental Care, Inc. from 1996 until joining USPI. He served as president of the Surgery Group of HCA and president and chief executive officer of the Ambulatory Surgery Division of HCA from 1994 until 1996. Prior to that time, Bill served as president, chief operating officer and a director of Medical Care America. He received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and his master’s degree in health systems management from Tulane University.
  • Joel T. Allison
    Has served on our board since March 2002. Mr. Allison has served as president and chief executive officer of Baylor Scott & White since 2000 and served as its senior executive vice president from 1993 until 2000. Mr. Allison brings an important perspective to the board through his role in leading a major healthcare system and his familiarity with issues impacting physicians and the delivery of healthcare in the U.S.
  • Dan Cancelmi
    Daniel Cancelmi serves as chief financial officer of Tenet Healthcare Corporation, overseeing the company’s finance, accounting, investor relations and related functions. Cancelmi is a member of the Tenet Executive Leadership Team and reports directly to Trevor Fetter, Tenet’s president and chief executive officer. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of Florida and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He is also a member of the American, Florida and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants.
  • Trevor Fetter
    Trevor Fetter serves as chairman and CEO of Tenet Healthcare, one of the nation’s largest healthcare services companies. Mr. Fetter joined Tenet in 1995 and has served in several senior management positions, including Chief Financial Officer. He became CEO in 2003, and was appointed chairman in 2015. He has served as chairman of the Federation of American Hospitals, the industry association that represents investor-owned hospitals, and is on the board of The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. He is a member of the Business Roundtable and a director of the Dallas Citizens’ Council. Fetter serves on the Board of Dean’s Advisors and the Healthcare Initiative Advisory Board of the Harvard Business School. He has been named to Modern Healthcare’s list of the “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare” every year since the survey’s inception in 2002.
  • D. Scott Mackesy
    Joined our board, executive committee and compensation committee in April 2007. Mr. Mackesy is a general partner of Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, where he focuses primarily on investments in the healthcare industry and is a managing member of the general partner of Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe X, L.P. Prior to joining Welsh Carson, Mr. Mackesy was a research analyst at Morgan Stanley, where he was responsible for coverage of the healthcare services industry. He is a member of the board of directors of several private companies. Mr. Mackesy, through his lengthy and broad focus on the healthcare industry, offers the board greater insight into industry dynamics as well as investment and acquisition strategies.
  • Harold L. Paz, M.D.
    Joined our board in February 2014. Dr. Paz is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine, with a special interest in patients with sarcoidosis. Dr. Paz is Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Aetna. He leads clinical strategy and policy at the intersection of all of Aetna’s domestic and global businesses. He is responsible for driving clinical innovation to improve patient experience, quality and cost in all areas of the health care delivery system.
  • Keith Pitts
    Keith Pitts serves as the vice chairman of Tenet Healthcare Corporation. Pitts joins Tenet from Vanguard Health Systems, where he served as vice chairman. Prior to joining Vanguard, Pitts served as the chairman and chief executive officer of Mariner Post-Acute Network. In addition, he served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for OrNda HealthCorp, a predecessor of Tenet Healthcare Corporation. He holds memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and the Florida Institute of CPAs. He is a frequent speaker and lecturer at a variety of healthcare industry gatherings for organizations across the country. He is serving his third term as the chairman of the Federation of American Hospitals, the industry association that represents investor-owned hospitals.
  • Paul B. Queally
    Has served as a director of USPI since its inception in February 1998 and serves as the chairman of the compensation committee and a member of the executive committee. Mr. Queally is Co-President of Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, where he focuses primarily on investments in the healthcare industry and is a managing member of the general partner of Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe IX, L.P. Prior to joining Welsh Carson in 1996, Mr. Queally was a general partner at the Sprout Group, the private equity group of the former Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. He is a member of the boards of directors of AGA Medical Corporation, Aptuit, Inc. and several private companies. Mr. Queally’s service on the boards of multiple private and public companies and his extensive experience in corporate transactions, including M&A, leveraged buyouts and private equity financing, provide the board with an important perspective in making strategic decisions.
